We've been doing this Ayn Rand Race to the Bottom for forty plus years now. It's a crappy deal, it was always was a crappy deal and it is getting crappier all the time.
Certain factions are trying to change things. Looking around the world to see what's working and what's not. What seems to be working best is the Scandinavian model. When you look at the countries with the happiest populations; Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Switzerland, among others you'll find social democracy to be the cause. A simple concept...government of, by, and for the people.
Thomas Jefferson said: "The care of human life and happiness…is the only legitimate object of good government"
Providing for the general welfare is clearly stated in the Constitution, but it falls by the wayside when defense is mentioned. We have moved from the defense of US citizens outward to the defense of Saudi Arabian interests. Making war in other parts of the world under some guise of defending the borders and people of the United States. NATO has become little more than support for US Imperialism and the US has become the world's policeman, often putting foriegn interests and corporate profits above the general welfare and defense of Americans.

But more importantly, it is not CAPITALISM either, it's cronyism, it's corruption, it's gangsterism.
And that is capitalism in a nutshell. But capitalism has gotten a huge boost from Democratic neoliberal policies which favor business interests(free marketry) over human resources.
Neoliberalism has worked beautifully for the Bougie class. But the rest of us are getting left behind. Even the apparent success of the markets and corporations is a chimera, America's corporate debt is nearing $10Trillion. Total U.S. consumer debt is at $13.86Trillion.
So...if you haven't been keeping track, business and consumer debt in the US is higher than the National Debt which has just surpassed $22Trillion. All told the US Government, it's businesses and it's people are now some $45Trillion dollars in debt.
How long do you think we can sustain this...how long before people vote for change? How long before this house of cards falls.
Will Biden or the billionaires fix it? They only want more of the same.
Because it's working for them!
And this is the raging good economy that will get Donald Trump Re-elected?
