It's a blind obsession for both sides.
This is only true as far as partisanship goes. This is not a case of partisanship in the sense you are using the defined word.

While it is true Republicans support Mr Trump and declare him innocent (even if he shoots people on the Senate floor), they will acquit him in a demonstration of cult-like partisan support.

This is not the case with the Democrats. While it is true there were a few Democrats who viewed the emoluments clause as a legitimate issue for impeachment, House leadership considered it to be a very weak case especially since there is no legal precedents. Once it became known Mr Trump essentially attempted an extortion plot against Ukraine, House Democrats knew that was indeed an impeachable offense i.e. abuse of power. In no way did was partisanship involved in Mr Trump's decision to extort Zelenskyy. It was a pure naked example of gangsterism emanating from the WH. That you have problems understanding the issue is disconcerting. If sex in the WH is impeachable then one would have to admit possible crimes involving FEC regulations and Constitutional divisions of power are as well.

All I can say is Mr Trump ... please provide us with witnesses who will testify the conspiracy was nothing more than your concern about corruption in Ukraine.

Now which part of this had anything to do with partisanship???? O and BTW .... had Pres Obama done the same thing .... I would have called for Republicans & Democrats to impeach him.

ignorance is the enemy
without equality there is no liberty
America can survive bad policy, but not destruction of our Democratic institutions
