I think that at this point we're headed into the 2020 election season with a pressing need to flip the Senate with as large a majority as can be mustered, keep the House and hopefully win the White House.

At least, if Trump pulls a Nixon reelection he faces Dem majorities in both chambers, and the party's over for Donald Trump.

A speedy coverup/acquittal by Mitch and his Senate followed by what is sure to be the most unhinged State of the Union speech in history, will fuel the upsets, and Trump will lose his human shields.
