McConnell is up to something, I just can't figure out what.
Not sure what you find suspicious about his comments. Trump is all bluster. His comments on wanting people to testify is exactly the same as when he said he wants to release his taxes or that he wanted to testify in the Mueller investigation.

The more and more I'm seeing the "trial" go on the more inclined I am to say that there will be no documents and no witnesses at all.

The more interesting thing to see regarding that is what democrats choose to do when you have elected representatives refuse to do their job as laid out in the constitution. If I were in charge I'd run ads coast to coast of how absurd the idea is that you can have a trial with no witnesses or documents and that anyone interested in the truth would immediately realize the first thing you need are documents and witnesses. I would also let everyone know that since the senate refused to do its job, I will be bringing in everyone relevant and making them testify in the house, even if it means long court cases.

Trump is no mystery at all. It's McConnell. He never gives ground.

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — The phone of Amazon founder and Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos was hacked after receiving a file sent from an account used by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, United Nations experts said Wednesday.

The two experts called for an “immediate investigation” by the United States into information that suggests that Bezos’ phone was likely hacked after he received an MP4 video file sent from the Saudi prince’s WhatsApp account in May 2018, after the two exchanged phone numbers at a dinner in California.

Senate seats I would say would flip as of today, Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina to the Democrats, Alabama to the Republicans. Iffy, Maine. I don't know how the ranked voting Maine is going to will effect the race.

It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Senate-wise, Arizona is as blue as it's going to get.

Sinema will be lucky to hold her seat (she's effectively a non-entity), and Martha McSally is more or less in for life.

Washington State once had a Republican governor called Dan Evans. After being the governor he ran, and won, a seat in the Senate. He didn't run for a second term and said "I was under the impression the Senate was a great center for debate - it is not"

I think that probably woke me up a bit. He also demonstrated that some politicians, regardless of party, actually believe they are there to support and fix gov.

Democrats knew very well that the Senate would never convict Trump. So the more unfair the trial seems, the better it is for Democrats. McConnell is making a bad mistake. The optimal trial would allow witnesses and documents and then ALMOST convict and remove Trump. Every Republican in a tight race would vote to remove. That way they remove their opponents main talking point for the 2020 election. Republicans walked right into this trap: Some of the House impeachment managers were prosecutors for a long time, and it shows.

The 2020 election season is going to be a lot of fun. I notice Liz is running on "Indict Them All". Even if Biden wins the primaries, she would make a great VP. He needs to swallow his ego and ask her, to get the left on board.
