Trump's "spiritual adviser", Paula White-Cain, supports abortions

Wasn't she praying for the miscarriages of satanic pregnancies? ie those offspring produced by godless democrats and people of colour?

The Bible is not an accurate record.
Of course it isn't. Storytellers enhanced their tales as they told them, and memory is so flexible that researchers found recently that there is no such thing as an "original memory" of an event. We remember little salient bits of events and reconstruct them each time we recall them. So that is why contemporaneous notes are much more reliable than later eye-witness testimony.

It was about three hundred years before anybody wrote down the gospel stories. But evidently something happened in the Middle east around 30 CE, since different disciples went off in different directions and their stories were written down eventually.

Because of this, I believe much along the lines of Thomas Jefferson: There probably was a man named Josua, who preached a kinder gentler cant than contemporary rabbis. All the miracles and Joshua's divinity are borrowed "features" from other religions and myths of the time. Storytellers played rusty telephone for many generations and then people started writing stuff down. Every time they revised it, they threw in whatever their favorite moral or political sacred cows needed. The result is The Book that millions of people claim is perfectly accurate.

When I say "Jesus said", and quote the Bible, I am just talking to or about those people. If they claim it is true, then they should do what Jesus supposedly told them to do. The funny thing, is that even in the Bible, Jesus said nothing at all about abortion or the gays. All that stuff comes from Jewish commandments, which is essentially a different religion! If people want to follow those commandments, then there are something like 600 other commandments they should be keeping.

There are large groups of "Christians" that aren't - they are readers of the Old Testament not unlike Muslims in that regard. They also have a lot of similar beliefs to Muslims. These are people who delight in using the Old Testament to justify their 'beliefs'. You can actually identify them by their references to "the bible" (and then run like hell before they can getcha!).

I remember once, when I had an employee that went with a group of these so called "Christians". It didn't take her long to figure out she wanted nothing to do with these people. They were driving her nuts. She stopped going to meetings and they staked out her home, called her on the phone every 10 minutes, and stalked her. She asked me what I thought she should do and I told her to goto the police. She didn't think it made any difference but the cops got it stopped. She was actually terrified!

Now they are all supporting Trump and they call themselves 'Christians' - they are not........

I remember about 15 years ago, there was this fad of *aggressive* street preaching.

Many asses were kicked. A new fad was found.

In these, the latter days, many believe that Ragnarok is upon us. That Midgard will be caught up in the war between the gods and that our fate...is...actually the ancient prophecies don't go into a lot of detail here but I think overall death and destruction is implied.

We've spoken before of the trickster gods and Loki is perhaps the trickiest of them all. I suspect capitalism itself might be a trick. You'll note, that the happiest nations in the world are the ones where Asatru is most practiced. Is it apropos to consider that the birthplace of the Abrahamic faiths is perhaps the saddest? The Hindu realms are suffering under crushing poverty while the far east battles pestilence.

Yahweh talks a good game but how are the locals fairing? I think of dusty tattered children among the rubble when I think of the Middle East. And Sultans in their castles. Dressing and acting as though the last eight centuries never happened.

Take this to heart, men of faith, and remember that all gods are local gods. Choose wisely which to burn offerings to.

So you've heard of the "Repent Amarillo" street preacher movement?
The leader of THAT bunch of louts had a straight day job.
He was the head of security for PANTEX, the Texas company that MAKES a large number of our NUCLEAR BOMBS.

By night, he and his group targeted bars, nightclubs, video rental stores, even private homes...wherever he said that sin was taking place. They took down license plate numbers and, with the help of certain members of the Amarillo PD, harassed them AND their employers.
