It just occurred to me that the Hamburg flooding story is a metaphor for the GOP and Trump. The dishonest Senate trial was the same as putting another eight feet on top of the levee just before an extreme runoff season with record amounts of snowpack in the upper watershed and a bomb cyclone on the way.

You never change things by fighting the existing reality.
To change something, build a new model that makes the old model obsolete.
