LOL, you know I had resigned myself to a Hillary Clinton presidency when it became apparent the Republicans were going to nominate Trump. I was totally surprised he won. I went to bed around 10PM knowing full well this country would have to put up with 4 years of Hillary. I was prepared for that also.
2016 was a good news, bad news election for me. The good news, Hillary lost, the bad news, Trump won.
I'll add one more thing going over the numbers. The Democrats had momentum, they had the enthusiasm and energy to get out and vote in November. They had quite an advantage which showed itself in 2018. But this one party impeachment hasn't dampen the democrats enthusiasm, but it seems to have awaken the Republicans. I'd say for the first time in 2 years or more, the enthusiasm gap in favor of the democrats has been erased.
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
