totally expected. This whole shenanigan was a total waste of time, energy and money. Totally expected: Yes Total waste of time, energy and money: No. You are only looking an impeachment poll numbers. But the intent of sending it to the senate was never about getting a conviction. It was so everybody voting for a congressman in November knows in their heart the Republicans are totally corrupt. Without the kangaroo court trial, we wouldn't have Romney's speech about voting to convict. I think Utah just turned Blue. LOL, Utah, Blue? Okay. As for congress, the house, this time around the Democrats are defending 235 seats to the Republicans 199 whereas in 2018 it was the Republicans defending 241 vs the Democrats 194. One also has to remember that the 40 seats the democrats picked up in 2018, 31 were in districts Trump won in 2016. Voting for the articles of impeachment is bound to be a hot campaign issue there. The question is were the folks in those 31 districts plain tired of Trump or will be revenge night in November for their vote for the articles. Unknown at this time. As of 1 Feb this time around the Democrats have 30 competitive/at risk seats of switching to the Republicans 17. These numbers are dynamic and change constantly or at least from month to month when new data becomes available. This would translate in the GOP picking up 5-8 seats, far from the 19 needed to regain control.
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

It just perfectly encapsulates the Trump administration's massive and absolute incompetence when Rush Limbaugh and a 100 year old Tuskegee Airman are in the same room and Rush is the one going " home with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. I don't know about incompetence, but it sure shows partisanship triumphs over deeds. I've never watched a SOTU address in my long life and I didn't start last night. So I missed all the fun.

Over on DP someone piped up to remind me that he promoted McGee to Brigadier General. Yes he did, and McGee STILL should have received the MoF on top of that, and Rush Limbaugh should have been watching the SOTU speech from his comfy studios at EIB. So McGee gets an honorary retirement promotion to Bridadier General. Promotion at age one hundred to Brigadier General? Do the fiscal math on that one. If he makes it to 105, what does that add up to? I daresay at age 100, receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom would have had much more meaning.

I agree. I hate awards based strictly on partisanship or politics. Even in my long military career I seen people get awards just because they know whose butt to suck, politics in other words. By the way, being a numbers guy I've been checking the most recent polls since Iowa on NH. Three of them, Boston Globe, Emerson and St. anseim. Buttigieg has moved into third, averageing the three polls together it is, Sanders 26, Biden 18, Buttigieg 14, Warren 13. That's a jump of six points for Buttigieg since 3 Feb or in 2 days.
Sanders is still the over whelming favorite to win NH. But if Buttigieg can overtake Biden and finish 2nd. Who the heck knows. Biden is strong in Nevada and South Carolina, especially South Carolina where he leads by Sanders by 14. Nevada is close.
No new polls in Nevada or south Carolina since the end of January. So they might be out of date. I'll give it a few more days, a week or so to see if Buttigieg continues to move up in NH or if this 6 point jump was just a fluke as a result of Iowa, then drops back down or if it has staying power.

Evil triumphing while "good men" stand by and do nothing...except they're actually doing more than "nothing", they are cheering the triumph of evil. Twitter Video Link And he's at The National Prayer Breakfast. There's your "Christianity", America...your false prophets who sold their birthright for a plate of lentils, just as Esau did. And I used quotes because I know that a few real Christians are incensed, livid, furious. And now, in a couple of hours, we will hear what is likely to be the most unhinged, vile and despicable rant of Trump's entire career, in which he is apparently planning to announce his plans to "go after his enemies", in what many believe will be "the strongest terms imaginable". And why not? His party has given him a blank check to do "whatever he wants". Article Two of the Constitution didn't, his partners in crime did. Anyone want to take a guess as to what he intends to try doing?

Trump's now more popular than ever according to the latest gallup poll. Trump job approval Sheesh, wouldya look at that. I wonder what was going on with the sharp uptick of his approval in the last few months of the charts?... How'd that phoney impeachment work out? I'm starting to agree with the observation that the liberal class is nothing but a bunch of professionals who like to be dommed by republicans...

This post is exactly why I have no use for the progressive wing. Take part or don't. Whatever floats your boat.
What can we do to help you stop screaming?

Progressives were shouting not to do this impeachment in the way Libs wanted to go about it. Weak tea charges loaded with hypocrisy.
The impotency of the neoliberals is on display.
My guess will be that more and more people have no use for liberals.
Question is where they will go from here.

Hopefully, at the very least, they will stop their righteous claims and condemnations based on purity. If they keep it up the Dems will lose and we will get another 4 years of our Dear Leader the Jackass Trump. I also wish the candidates would stop eating one another and go after the Jackass thereby proving which one can beat Trump.
Beating Trump is not going to be easy! All polls and Democratic claims seem to forget that little thing. I can't remember when it has even been possible to beat a president that had full employment. People tend to forget but there is a rule, it goes like, ITS ALL ABOUT JOBS! This is a simple fact and the behavior of the Dems is not exactly helping.
I think that its not liberals per se, so much as what are considered crazy people making promises that are simply nuts. Goto Warren's site and take a look at her offerings. Bernie AND Warren are not helping the cause of Trump replacement at all! I think their plan is that there are so many more people on the left and in the middle, that don't like Trump that they can skate. Trump is an ignoramus but he is not stupid and he fights dirty, lies with commitment, is sneaky, and dangerous as hell.
The Democrats seem to have absolute faith in the voters. Boy, how can that go wrong?
