Good morning to another day of coronaliving! Yesterday we had a nice visit with a friend delivering custom masks for my wife and I. We practiced social distancing and still managed to share wine and cheese on the porch. We each had our own plates and glasses, and we didn't touch the bottle. I prepared the food in a sterile environment, after washing and gowning. So, we shared the sunshine and the latest events from a safe distance. The wine, by the way, was excellent.

I hope you treated the masks with the same care. I think 24 hours of non-contact should be enough for natural fabrics. Synthetic might be a bit longer. All this means is you put the masks in a safe container, and then go wash your hands. 24 hours later, it's safe to put them on and use them.

Huffpost has a story about the effectiveness of different mask materials. And don't forget, wearing masks doesn't protect you from infected people coughing or sneezing. It protects others from you!

If you need protection, the best is to stay home and avoid delivered items and mail until it has sat around for a day or two. If you do have to go out, keep social distance from people in masks and stay far away from people without them. Wear eye protection. Eyeballs are very susceptible. Never touch your mask until you get home, and then treat the outside of it as if it is contaminated. Remove it, put it in it's container, wash your hands, and then shower and wash your hair. Disinfect anything you touched while out.

Come by my house, it's only a couple of thousand miles. I guarantee, good wine and good conversation. I'll even provide a mask and disinfectant.

Watched a very thought-provoking movie last night: An Inspector Calls. Perfect for our current situation.
