I rather liked GNT too! I'm not even sure how this little kerfuffle got started. As a mod I wasn't informed of any of it as it occurred nor do I have information regarding communications between the various individuals involved. Normally we'd put our heads together read over the poster's complaint, share any communications and come to some sort of agreement. My vote would have been that the post was emotional and irrational and was an inflammatory attack on various icons of the American left.

First I heard, I was asked to change my post and I promptly deleted it, no problem no worries. Then the forum went dead and I assumed it was down for repairs.

If protocol had been followed this all might have been avoided. Shutting down the forum resigning and running off in the middle of the night is not how we've ever done things here. If I'd thought there was any real issue I'd have just deleted the whole mess and been done with it. None of this sh*t is worth getting upset over. Tempers flair occasionally and we've always gotten past it. It's part of the fun of it.

GNTs rant against the left was ill considered and meant to inflame the lefties among us. He slapped three intelligent replies aside without regard for their content. That aint discussion pardner, that's just railroading your opinion through without regard for facts or reasonable debate.

And I'm probably totally in the wrong in regards to ensuing comments. I offer a limited apology for that.

But once I had to re-open the goddam forum because the admin got overwhelmed I was seriously f*cking pissed. Not at him...but at whatever happened to set this whole imbroglio in motion.

We had one admin and two mods. One of the mods has changed forums and doesn't come around much anymore. The admin just quit. That leaves me and the rest of you indians and I aint nobody's chief.

The "What's for Dinner" thread begs to differ...

Hilarious thing about Trump's new Executive Order: He wants to make social media responsible for the contents of user's posts, because Twitter added fact check URLs to two of his posts. But he is the main beneficiary of the current "no responsibility" law! If Twitter had to monitor and remove harmful posts, they would have to censor almost every post Trump makes. They would also have to remove all nazi and White Supremacy content!

What he really wants is the right to lie and control the message totally. He can do that, on his own web site. It already exists.

Next he will want to overturn Citizens United!
