The only right I know is the biological imperative. All other so-called rights are political constructs which can only be guaranteed by the imputed will of the people.

But wait...what about god given rights like the right to bear arms? You know, Biblical rights.
I don't know who started calling healthcare a "right" it's not. It's something the government should provide. Part of the social contract so to speak. Eventually we will work our way around to some form of socialized healthcare...

Weird how Rightwingers think that having a presence on social media is a Right, but having healthcare isn't. Neither healthcare nor a page or presence on someone else's platform is a Right. Rights are negative in nature, not positive. What part of "...promote the general welfare..." from the Preamble do you not understand, dumbass? In United States v. Butler, 56 S. Ct. 312, 297 U.S. 1, 80 L. Ed. 477 (1936), the SCOTUS agreed that Congress has broad powers to spend federal money on our Country's general welfare, but with limited funding. The decision essentially combined Madison's interpretation of the clause that "spending is not unlimited" and Hamilton's interpretation of the clause to mean Congress the power to spend without limitation for the broader general welfare of the nation. Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 promote - support or actively encourage. general - affecting or concerning all or most people, places, or things; widespread welfare - the health, happiness, and fortunes of a person or group. Any society that aspires to nothing, will lose everything. Through an insidious devaluation of curiosity and intellectualism by Conservatives, a loss of empathy and "limited" governance promoted by Conservatives, America will eventually fall victim to its own self-engenderizing if Conservatives have their way. It's so sad that you've bred and spread your inferior intellect.

I don't play the strawman game* - that's what Conservatives do. *ignore the first part of an argument, focus on the part that supports the Rightwing narrative.

That government can provide a thing (and, in his opinion, should) does not make that thing a Right, it makes it something government can provide.

... Greger is right here... Don't hide behind Greger you coward. Last time I checked, Greger is not a Constitutional scholar. No dis to Greger. Your child-like "two against one" mentality is noted.

The preamble is the introductory part of the constitution stating its purpose, aims, and justification. It states the goals, the objective of what follows in the actual Constitution. The Constitution itself lays out the rights of the individual and or the states. What the Federal Government can and can't do, what the states can't do and anything not stated is left to the states and or the people.
The preamble is just the introductory part of the Constitution. The actual constitution follows of what applies follows.
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

It is the the goals, and the objective of the United States Government to promote the general welfare of its citizens, but arsehole Republicans reject that idea and won't codify it. Sounds about right. Thanks for the clarification perotista.

While technically the preamble is viewed as the introduction, it is actually the contractual agreement between the People and the Federal government.
THE PEOPLE create an entity, the Federal Government, with goals and it is done through the following instrument, framework to achieve those goals. If there is no contract, the Constitution becomes a meaningless piece of parchment and the de facto government has no obligation to do anything, and can very well act to enslave the very people who created the government.
