As an aside, I don't understand what the purpose of a Rightwinger is. The average American disagrees with Republican orthodoxy on every major issue: healthcare, climate change, gun violence, immigration, taxes, Covid response.
You can ask that question of the Democratic Party as well. The current reality is for either party to vilify the other, projecting onto them that they are guilty of themselves. They both serve the same interest. It’s just a matter of style.
