We're not gonna have Donald Trump to kick around anymore and the extreme right has bloodied themselves and sullied whatever reputation they ever had as "Patriots" with most Americans of both parties.

It is entirely possible that this ushers in a new sense of responsibility among our elected officials in Washington DC. They've seen where hyper-partisan politics goes up close.

The Trump bootlickers still in place might find it hard to get elected next time around.

It's possible...it's not likely...But the real sh*tshow is over, we can at least get back to some sort of normalcy. I'm betting we see weed legalized federally within a year. Biden doesn't like it much but it will make him a hero to millions of Americans.

The $15 minimum wage might happen too, although we waited to long and it needs to be $20 now. I expect we'll see some sort of forward movement on healthcare as well. Walls will be torn down and the weird radical Trump approach to immigration will at least become slightly more compassionate.

I've heard that Mexico has agreed to pay for the wall now and Canada wants one too after the recent kerfuffle at the Capital...

Things are going to start to get better and Joe Biden will get the credit.

I'm going into this new year and new administration with high hopes.

Giggling fits are starting again.

Biden has been saying all the right stuff about Garland running an independent Department of Justice. This leaves prosecution in federal prosecutors hands, so I predict a lot of it from Southern District of NY and DC prosecutors. All those crazy MAGA insurrectionists are going to be really sorry about not wearing masks! This was a perfect time to rob banks, because they require masks, and they go invade the capital and then post their selfies on line.

If the senate can't bring themselves to convict Trump, maybe they will censure him so he can't run again.

I actually thought that very same thing last April. Then I realized there's a reason why the lines are so long at the drive-thrus at the banks in my area, and still are - the lobbies are closed.

I see the ANWR oil lease auction was a disaster. Proponents thought opening up the Alaska Wildlife Refuge to drilling could bring in 1.8 billion dollars. Less than half the tracts received bids, and almost all those were from the State of Alaska (who gets back half the bid money). The total was only 14.4 million dollars. ZERO big oil companies bid, and I think the state wants to leave it untouched.

This is another major fiasco for the Trump Team.

Doesn't sound like the red state Alaska that I know. Mebbe they'll do their own oil exploring.
