You never change things by fighting the existing reality.

My favorite was a Blue Oyster Cult concert with friends, all chemically altered. Plus Mardi Gras!

There were so many favorites in various categories that its hard to pick a favorite, but easy to pick the most bizarre!
Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention, bizarre enough already, but they opened with "my Boyfriend's Back" wearing pink tutus! Bringing up the consideration of excessive alteration crazy

The favorite concert I almost saw was standing in line for Otis Redding in Madison Wi. when they came out and announced he had crashed into the lake and died.

Second most favorite missed concert was the Who, when I was at a transplant workshop in Las Vegas, and fortuitously the Who were performing their first show of the 2002 USA tour. Unfortunately, Entwistle, 57, had too much fun the night before with a groupie stripper and cocaine, and woke up dead! It Gave me more time to study histocompatibility, OH BOY!

Not as much fun as Iron Butterfly in Central Park that was easy to find by auditory guidance!

Schaefer Music Festival

I was lucky to be spending my summers working and living within walking/staggering/meandering distance of Central Park from 1968-71. Too bad there wasnt much happening in music back then!
It was a bit harder to get up for work some weeks. The fee for bandstand seats was a buck, but the lawn was just fine, and didnt have to waste any energy staying upright!
1969 was typical

Must not have been to one of those six hour Grateful Dead concerts that were long enough to sober anyone up, unless of course, refreshments were served!

I graduated from High School in 68, and spent the next 10 years frequently exercising novel metabolic pathways clearing unusual chemicals from my nervous system. Sometimes those involved concerts. Sometimes more natural settings, like a high perch above a desert canyon, a 10,000 foot high Sierra lake, or a hot spring full of naked hippies on the Pacific Crest Trail: Good clean fun!
