Don’t you go to the Circle/Bolgia with the highest number for which you qualify? It seems to me that the esteemed journalist(?) would qualify for Bolgia 8 of the Eighth Ring (Counselors of Fraud), 9 (Sowers of Discord) and 10 (Falsifiers). Not to mention the Ninth Circle (Treachery)

I’m sure Texas will push back on receiving emergency aid and assistance from the federal government. Being upstanding, self-reliant individualists, they would be embarrassed to the point of becoming physically ill if we tried to force a handout on them. The rest of the country should spare them and just seal the border until they’ve had a chance to figure it all out.
Even thoughts and prayers might be too much for their delicate sensibilities. So, we can skip those as well.

The 8th Circle in the 8th Bolga for sure for the Evil Counselor Rush: -In this canto, Dante uses the evil counselors tongues on fire as a metaphor to show how they trash-talked in their lives and "they sinned by glibness of tongue, so are the flames made into a fiery travesty of tongues"
