The Oklahoma legislature just passed a bill to give people who run over protestors immunity from prosecution. But drivers looking to attack protestors with their cars (and there have been several) beware: Oklahoma is a permit-free legal concealed-carry state for those protestors 21 or over, and it's Stand Your Ground law gives people the right to defend themselves with deadly force if they feel threatened in a public place they have a right to be.
So both the drivers and the protestors can claim immunity. This is a recipe for disaster. In effect, they are legalizing public duels. People can "accidently" try to run over protestors with politics they don't like, and protestors can kill them when they see them coming.
