...I see you've moved again. You sound happy with it.... This morning was the vanpool's very first ferry adventure. We got priority boarding because we're "public transportation." It was dark as we headed to Seattle Just as we arrived, the sun was just breaking over the skyline. It was so pretty. The commute from the ferry building was awesome. ZERO traffic because we were going reverse commute. We were leaving Seattle and people were coming into it. The way home was pretty too. I'm loving my new commute.

Hello Mellow.
If I had anything cogent to say I might add it to the equation. I’m still thinking about it.

So I see they're thinking of "putting up the security fence" around the Capitol again. I don't see the sense in putting it up and taking it down repeatedly when they might as well just leave it up and make it permanent. It's a teachable moment for Congress critters to have to do a walk of shame through a "Capitol Green Zone" and there should be plaques every 150 feet with the names of the 147 who supported the insurrection, and armed guards checking every last one of them. Future generations should see what these people did to our temple of democracy, so they will never forget it. Soooooo, are y'all ready for September 18th yet? ![[Linked Image from i.imgur.com]](https://i.imgur.com/i6geM2x.jpg)

Well Rick I am sure that you are loving your Seattle area ferry rides. Martha and I lived in the area through most of the 80s and we loved to take the ferries from downtown to either Vashon or Bainbridge Island. Also going up north and leaving from Anacortes to visit the San Juan’s which we did on occasion when time and money allowed
My family is mostly Canadian so we would go up to British Columbia to visit my relatives up there and earlier we would take the ferry from Vancouver to Victoria and later from Twassessan to Victoria and then go up the west side of Vancouver Island. Those were good days! and I still think about them from time to time.

I'm liking being back more often. Things here are not so bitter. I'm less bitter, too. It's good to see old faces (okay, handles) showing up again. Missed y'all.
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

Ya know Ponderer I’ve long thought about that. How much of this discord is domestically generated or how much of it is exacerbated and written by foreign trolls. It’s unrelenting and usually after an article about any given subject, depending on if comments are allowed, one can almost make up the “outrage†depending on the theme of the article. And this just gets pounded in over and over again.
I try to avoid group discussions on sites that are particularly prone to one side or the other. I have concluded that for most things-except science and mathematics- the “truth†is somewhere in the middle. Or at least I think it to be so. I hope I have made sense in this comment.
