The draft was different, but more importantly, warfare was different. We didn't have drones in Vietnam.

That warn't my intent, Mello... I was thinking that Vietnam was a big deal and has stuck with us for 50 years because of the much deeper involvement with the Murrican public. The reasons for that have to do with more serving, more killed, and less choice on serving. The draft is a great uninsulator of public awareness around war.
