And sex education or the lack thereof.
Regarding “What a world to bring unwanted children into†- people have been saying that for hundreds of years; you certainly need go no further back than the Blitz, or the Cold War, but you could probably go back to the Black Plague.
And for that matter, if the world is that bad (you’ll get no argument from me,) it is bad to bring any child into, wanted or unwanted.
To throw up your hands and say “ach, but it’s a terrible world†is to take refuge in a platitude. “The problem is so huge, there’s nothing to be done.â€
Frankly, that’s horse hockey. These are single laws, new laws, that can be prevented or overturned - not nearly as difficult, say, as amending the Constitution.
Shrugging your shoulders and turning away will work as long as you have no young (under 50) female relatives who need you to loan them $1500 and/or drive them across state lines on very short notice. With respect, I think you misunderstood my sentiment. I was talking specifically about Texas when I said "What a world to bring a child into." I have no intention of throwing hands anywhere (I need them to type with), and, indeed, will do what I can to stifle the idiocy coming from Texas spreading to other areas of the nation.
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

Just a few points; the news is coming on.
1) If I think I’m pregnant and I don’t want to be, I’m not going to trust my life (because that’s what we’re talking about,at least a possible 18 years of it) to a bargain test. And who’s going to buy 50 pregnancy tests? When do they expire?
2). there is a standard procedure for calculating how far a woman’s is in pregnancy. It was devised in the 1800s and basically for medical purposes it’s calculated from the first day of the last menstrual period. While a woman can/will give information to assist that calculation, by-guess-by-golly doesn’t do it.
And while I wouldn’t expect you to know what that calculation was, the fact that you didn’t even know it exists puts more than a little of your information in doubt; you are missing the very information on which the law is based.

I think there is something one can take after doing the thing which will stop any babies. Ebay has test strips that cost about 6 buck per 25 as well. The problem is that girls will probably not do that kind of thing as young girls are simply not known to always pay attention. Said that wrong. How about "children who are less than 20 years old are not noted for paying a lot of attention to many things which can end up giving them pain".
Right now, our courthouse lawns are filled with both adults and children waiving the American, Trump, and odd flags as well as signs all about mandates, and vaccines, etc. which they don't want to deal with because they are evil works of the devil (etc). We now have almost 100 dead from corona and a pile of new positives as well. Now they are waving flags, yelling and screaming, and, I guess, awaiting their stint in the hospital and then, perhaps, dying or dealing with health problems for the rest of their lives. I mention this because young girls who don't want babies are a small group against the larger group of lunes determined to be free to be stupid crowd.
One can only wonder and hope that sanity, objective truth, and the ability to act in one's own interest somehow manages return to some before their freedom costs them lifelong problems and/or their lives.

Re: young girls: half of American women who get abortions are 25 years old or older.

Ps: you’re referring to RU-486, a medical abortion. I’d do some research on it but all my browser is bringing up is “pro-life†stuff and I’m not going to wade through it.

I went away to chill for a little bit but it didn’t work as well as I’d like.
Jgw - what is this about children less than 20 years old not paying attention? I’ve already commented on the age assumption, but not paying attention? Are you putting all these women into a pile of Barbies, and if so, where the heck it’s Ken? Not paying attention as well?
You think pregnancy tests are cheap, Walgreens has condoms 2 dozen for $21, and that’s just the first one on the list. As I said earlier, an abortion can cost up to $1500, and after this law, prison time.
I’m sure Ken will be waiting when Barbie gets paroled.

What the difference between a Christian Conservative and the Taliban? Not much... They both want to force their religious beliefs onto society.

...and if we expand Christian Conservative to simply Conservatives... ISIS or American Conservative? • Theocracy for government
 • Holy book as Science
 • Their religion is the only real one
 • Become violent when others speak against them
 • Guns solve everything
 • Accept only their own 'kind'

The NAZIs also wanted their neighbors to snitch on each other. Funny how Christian Conservatism and NAZIs have so much in common.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’m sure Ken will be waiting when Barbie gets paroled. Can you imagine if males gave birth? They'd be all kinds of perks and laws protecting a man's right to choose. Pro'lly even free Uber and Lyft rides to birthing centers or clinics to end the pregnancy.
