Elder also says that "young people need not get the vaccine and that he will dismantle ALL COVID protocols" immediately upon taking office.
Hey Elder!!! Don't Florida my California!

Not a fan of the host (he's the first one to take the invite!) but I filmed this in my living room.

A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
When people are fanatically dedicated to political or religious faiths or any other kind of dogmas or goals, it's always because these dogmas or goals are in doubt. -Robert M. Pirsig, author and philosopher (6 Sep 1928-2017)

Pirsig was probably most of the reason I bought a motorcycle lo these many years ago. I didn’t keep it long; I lived in a mountainous tourist area, and blind curves, Winnebagoes, and inexperienced riders don’t go well.

Not exact, but close: “What is Quality, Phaedrus, and what is not Quality? Need we ask someone to tell us these things?”

I was powerfully influenced by Pirsig way back in the day, and also bought a motorcycle, which I didn't keep for long (Montana is not a great place to try riding an extended season in...).

About a year ago I reread Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and was blown away by how unfamiliar it was to me, considering that I still carried the sense that it was a fundamental influence on my life.

Meeting with my architect today at noon. It was supposed to be 9am, but he emailed yesterday and asked to reschedule for noon. Turning my 2020-built 300 sq foot "cabin in the woods" w/ air-conditioning on a 4600 sq ft lot into a real home. smile

Currently, I am only using 19% of the lot with includes 300sq foot foundation plus 400 sq feet of driveway currently, and the city planning department said I can go up to 66% of the lot with hardscape (foundation, patio, walkways, driveway) - but the setback for a garage has to be 20' from the front property line - which means 400 sq ft of wasted hardscape just for the driveway. crazy I was hoping to cut the length of the driveway by 50% - like they do with "zero lot line" homes.

I started re-reading “Maintebnance” shortly after he died. It’s amazing how some images will stick with you. The salt lines on his riding gloves, for instance, or whacking his son’s leg to point out a flock of blackbirds.

I’ve never used a shim, but thanks to Pirsig I know what a shim is, and I know that the aluminum of a beer can (at that time) was slightly sticky, and good shim material.

Oh. You mean there’s more to the story than what’s on the surface?
