Tried them once in the 90s. NASTY!! Couldn't choke down the solution, it was so gross. Now, taking a pill of MDMA is WAY easier. laugh

If you are picking it's VERY important to have somebody who knows what they are doing at first. Poisonous mushrooms are really nasty, and you don't even know you are dying until it's too late, without an immediate liver transplant. And the chances of that are practically zero. The stems tend to turn blue after you pick them, which is a sign psilocybin is present. Drug test kits can tell you that, too. I don't think there are any poisonous mushroom species that contain psilocybin, though some are notorious for being nasty for your stomach.

Purists insist on fresh mushrooms, but it is really easy to extract the drug with alcohol. You just powder dried mushrooms, soak then for a few days in 191-proof ethanol or concentrated isopropanol. Then filter and collect the alcohol, and evaporate it. You can put the resulting dry powder in caps or even smoke it! No stomach upset, no nasty taste, just smooth sailing. Great for listening to music and sex, too.

If you are really industrious, you could capture the evaporating alcohol in a distillation setup and reuse it for the next time.

You get a porn channel on the radio? Or maybe you have loud neighbors...

Concur. It's disgusting. It's also black so whatever you put it in turns black. Hence, coffee. I figured the caffeine boost couldn't hurt either. Southern-style strong sweet ice tea works okay too.

Since dosage is hit or miss you might find yourself mixing another one an hour later if you aren't getting off as heavy as you like. You guys gonna do it together? It's best to have a pal who's capable of following psychedelic conversations.

PIA, there is no mistaking this mushroom for anything except an almost identical edible white mushroom. When you pinch the stem it bruises black immediately, The ring around the stem is also black. It's a very distinct little fellow. The spores are purple-black and that's where the magic is.

The two mushrooms look alike when they have just opened, before the black spores start dropping out.

You talking to me, Willis? My wife is an old hand, as for me, I’ve somehow been very light in participation in the drug culture, in spite of who I hang with. Never really liked pot, did acid once, little bit of coke and I think meth once (talk about nasty shiit!).
Everyone thought I was a stoner in high school, but I only had one hit the whole time.
My interest in shrooms really is not for amusement, I’m looking for understanding, and I’d like the fungi to show what they’ve got to say.

The shrooms don't say anything. They just offer a view through a different window.

Yes, as long as your partner isn't taking antidepressants, which cancel out the effect.
But if your partner can smoothly go off the antidepressants for a couple of days, it works perfectly.

The one drawback is, your partner's come-down period will be longer and worse than yours as a non-antidepressant user.

I'm a little surprised Loggy is going with shrooms over peyote.

Peyote is one of the few things I never had the chance to try.
