A THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If there existed no external means for dimming their consciences, one-half of the men would at once shoot themselves, because to live contrary to one's reason is a most intolerable state, and all men of our time are in such a state. -Leo Tolstoy, novelist and philosopher (9 Sep 1828-1910)

United Airlines staff who are granted religious exemptions to vaccine mandate will be put on unpaid leave.

THAT's how companies need to do it.

Let these people stay at home and watch their bills pile-up while they're exercising their religious freedumbs.

And for people who think they will just find another job when faced with a vax mandate, good luck with that. Those jobs may be very few and far between soon.

The brilliant problem-solvers who are sporting fake vaccination cards should know that use of a fake vaccination card with an official seal on it (like a real card) is legally forgery, and punishable by up to five years in prison. If you have one, the safest thing to do now is to burn it.

Oh, Leo, if only you'd lived another century....

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

So, just kind of wondering about my previous thought about foreign interventions to various Internet sites in the US. And how these sort of things lineup like iron filings under the influence of a magnet:

So here's the thing, the SCOTUS already weighed in on this in 1921 which ruled that the US government can compel Americans to get the polio vaxx.

...but you know how the three knuckleheads that Trump appointed feel about "settled law" - they "say" it's settled, then rule completely against the "settled" law. crazy

Then again, it's no surprise that a Righwinger will say one thing, and do another. coffee

To piggy back on Rick's....this came across my feed the other day. Interesting to see what happens.

...a couple of corrections to my post.

I was referencing the 1905 decision, and I misnamed the disease. The polio vaccine didn't come out to the 1950s. Apparently, AFTER the 1905 decision regarding small pox, the 1905 decision was challenged and the SCOTUS decision was reaffirmed in the 1920s by the SCOTUS and the whole concept of Americans compelled to have a vaxx was settled.

Driving and listening to the radio sometimes garbles information for me. Apologizes for the confusion. Hmm

Edit: ...from Business Insider

Quote
The Supreme Court affirmed the decision in 1922, ruling it was well within the rights of public and private schools to exclude unvaccinated students. Associate Justice Louis Brandeis issued the majority ruling, citing the Jacobson decision.

Recap:

1904, Lawsuit filed
1905: SCOTUS rules
1921: Lawsuit filed
1922: SCOTUS affirms

Accuracy does count. smile
