Lord, PIA, I need a drug just to think about a 5 hour ordeal in a tube. Yikes.

Mine was spine also but just the lower spine. He said I was all the way in the tube (couldn't tell, goofy plus my eyes were covered thank god) but it was about 30 minutes.
It would seem the knee would not be all the way in?

NWP, let us know how you fared.

Ken, I had rehab too that helped a lot. Plus eye candy. laugh

The vanpool schedule is exactly the same once we get to Seattle. The Bremerton run is 55 mins. The Bainbridge run is 30 mins, but it take 30 mins to get to Bainbridge, as opposed to 6 mins to get to the Bremerton ferry when it's running. smile

In 2019 I had a brain MRI.

I was forgetting things people told me at work after just a few minutes. I seriously thought I was getting or had Alzheimers. Work (HR) MADE me take off from work to see what was going on with me. I repeated tasks that I had already completed, but I forgot that I had completed them.

I had 23 doctor appointments from the last week in August 2019 to mid-November 2019. I even had that three hour psychological evaluation where you rearrange stuff, repeat stuff back, put things in order. Also I initially took that Montreal Test that Trump said he aced - the one with the camel and rhinoceros on it. That test doesn't tell doctors anything other than other testing may need to be done. Hmm

The MRI was to measure my brain for shrinkage - which is a sign of Alzheimers.

The MRI was 30 mins with about 8 difference imaging takes of about 3 mins each. A couple I had redo because I moved. The knock, knock, knock of the magnet is so annoying. mad

Anywhoo...

I turns out that I had, or still have, severe, I mean SERVRE, sleep apnea. I was waking up on the average of every 90 seconds all not long. I had no idea that was even happening.

So I got the machine and it's nothing like I thought it would be. I thought there'd be oxygen tanks to deal with and other stuff and it's nothing like that. I sleep REALLY, REALLY well now - about 7 hrs a night.

That machine has seriously changed my life. I swear by it. I wished that I had these tests sooner so that i could have started treatment sooner.

The one thing that is really different than before I used the machine is now I wake up with mucus around my eye lids, where before I never had that. As a result, when I first got the machine two years ago, I developed a stye. THAT treatment was to hold a warm cloth with baby shampoo soap on it on the eye lid several times a day.

Now when I shower, I close my eyes and wash my eyes with baby shampoo - literally, every time I shower in the morning. I have never developed another stye.

...and my memory is back to the way it used to be back in the day. smile

Rick, I think we have been in some similar places. I got a CPAP about 10 years ago; it can be life-changing. I also had a brain MRI this year and was pleased that they found one.

I also had some preliminary testing for Alzheimer’s but they found no sign of it so at least for now I’m OK there.

I got really tired of doctors and physical therapists this year though. Apparently, you can get tendonitis in some really weird places.

It’s scary when your brain suddenly stops working the way it always has. I’m glad you’re better.

Thanks Mellow.

Anytime the CPAP people need a testimony, I'll provide one. That thing is AWESOME!!!

By the way, I hope they explained to you that you won’t always sleep this deeply. At the beginning you’re making up for a sleep deficit you’ve built up over the years. Eventually it will even out.

I see the sleep doc once a year now. He's booked out that far. The next time I see him is 10/25. I'll ask him about that - and why I have the mucus around my eye lids when I wake up each day. I suspect it has to do with the warm water tank and I'm breathing in warm moist air all night long.

The last time I saw him, I didn't bring the right part of the machine and he couldn't download the sleep record to give me a full analysis and the visit was short because he had nothing to discuss with me and I was bummed-out that I messed-up.

I'm bringing the entire machine next time. smile
