I remember a particular moment when I was skiing, and stopped along a ridge overlooking the St. Lawrence. Snow silence. Standing in a forest, snowing, no sounds but the snow falling and my breath.

"With nearly seven million Pennsylvanians fully vaccinated, the data makes it clear: the vaccines are safe and effective at preventing severe illness from COVID-19," acting Secretary of Health Alison Beam said at a news conference at Lancaster General Hospital. "The overwhelming majority of the COVID-19 related cases, hospitalizations and deaths in Pennsylvania occurred in people who were not vaccinated," Beam said. "In fact, the data shows that compared to unvaccinated people, fully vaccinated Pennsylvanians are seven times less likely to get COVID-19, and eight times less likely to die from COVID-19." - WGAL, PhilidelphiaTake THAT you anti-vaxxer Karens!

By evening, all was back to “normalâ€, chattering and drinking beer with friends in the Stockman’s Bar, where you are greeted at the door by a sign informing, “Liquor up front, poker in the rear.†Civilization… ahhhh! Stockman's, huh? Now, I know more about you Loggy. We're more Oxford and Charlie B's people.

Well, it was 1975. We would go to the Ox after the Stocks closed for the night and have a big ol' plate of brains and scrambled eggs.

The other two popular bars at the time were the Mo Club and the Top Hat.

.... .and have a big ol' plate of brains and scrambled eggs. You're certainly right about the BIG part. Holy cow the Ox serves big plates. Their breakfasts are good! Don't know as I'd ever try brains though! I was just playing with you Logs. We actually had beers a couple of times at Stockmans. I had to laugh because one of the times we were there, we read an article about wild and crazy it gets there at night. We went early so nothing much was going on. Just a couple of cowboys. I live in a college town too. Yeah, we like Top Hat (I have a t shirt) and the Mo Club too. Last time we were in Missoula was 2016. We took the train across country and stopped in to see Melllow and then Ken. Since then though the west has either been on fire or this pandemic. We hope to do that trip again.

I think Top Hat was called Acapulco when I first moved there. It was a fern bar, if you can believe that! I heard my first Jimmy Buffet song there, Margaritaville. They had free bar snacks during Happy Hour...

Rep. Anthony Gonzalez (R-OH) says Donald Trump is a "cancer on the United States." W says Trunts are "children of a foul spirit." Ever get the feeling that MAGAts are not well liked? ,

Montana has only seven people per square mile - and is refusing to take 75 refugees caused by America? People this selfish will still tell you they're "Christian."

Log - I thought of your “silence†pos5 when I reward this sentence. A much different kind of silence,, this one after a death, but still:
“Then quiet (qù) became another person inside our house.â€
