Thanks, Skippy! I must say, that was unusual, odd, daring, and impossible.

France? We pissed off France? Musta pulled down their underpance. Looks like France is mad about losing a tens of $billions contract to sell submarines; New Zealand is mad about having anything stinking of nukes in the neighborhood; many Aussies are mad about that, too; and I’m just mad about saffron.

Log - I’ve tried (and discarded) three times to explain my reaction to this poem; I think I could have written a term paper on it, it’s that visceral. To me, it’s at least in part Rudyard Kipling meets “Death of a Salesman.â€
To me,if I try to shift genders, it’s also a lifetime’s worth of society/advertising’s insistence that women be something other than they are, overcome whatever life throws at us with lipstick bright and stocking seams straight - traditionally spoken in a man’s voice. When I try to overcome that gender stuff, I still get some earnest man telling me what I ought to do, and I ain’t having any of it! <grin>
I think those things are true. I also know that my point of view here is somewhat warped due to a lifetime of dealing with depression. Give me a list like this and I will hate us both; for a depressed person, this is a description of failure (see “warped.â€)
Wow. Again, I’m glad you find so much meaning in this,p; I’ve certainly learned a lot about my own reaction.

Gabby Petito and her fiance Brian Laundrie took a road trip to the West this past Summer. Both live in Florida. Gabby's family have not heard from her since she "returned home." Did I mention that Brian hired an attorney when he back home to Florida? I know that's the first thing I do when I return home from vacation... Can you say shades of Chris Watts?

Mello, didn't mean to raise any issues, sorry about that.
Just one more speculative observation (ala Greger), I'm not sure that ol' Rudy wasn't meaning 'mankind', as in humankind, in his use of the word Man. Of course, it being 1910 and all, I'm pretty sure that there was a lot more man in that "Man" than a gender bias sensitive person would be thinking today.
Man o man, hoomans sho' 'nuff got a pile o' skit (Norse) to work out, I'm tellin' ya!!

Did you mention that he returned home in her van, and she's missing - and he ain't talking because, "You know, people will make a thang out of it, and it ain't no thang..."?

Mello, didn't mean to raise any issues, sorry about that. Log troll - please don’t apologize. You don’t raise issues with me; I raise issues with me. You make me think - and I consider that a gift. No further apologies, please.

Naw...I didn't mention any of that either. White blonde, blue-eyed girls go missing all of the time (No they don't... ) I"m sure Nancy Grace is on this. Certainly Greta would be if she still had a show...

I suspect she's busy feeding worms somewhere, but it would be choice if she's just holed up with some mountain man in his cabin, to teach her a-hole ex a lesson. I read the FBI is looking for him now.
