It just seems stupid to me that in this day and age there would even be an argument over it.
But so much of the world is just dead-ass stupid all the time that it just boggles...ya know?
And seems somehow determined to drag us back to the middle ages and beyond...

Have to disagree on this one. I think it’s a new era where self absorbed, narcissistic, morans are fighting for anarchy and chaos without a fuukking thought for the consequences.

The whole question of legal/illegal abortion is only about 150 years old. Before the. It was kinda like legal/illegal immigration — no question of legality applied.

I heard a funny standup bit the other day by a women who was raised Catholic. She railed about all the stuff that was absent from Catholic sex ed class and parental (non)talks on the subject. Until she was a teen, she assumed "abortion" meant carrying to term, and then after delivery they just shot the baby in the head in some back room.
The other thing every sex ed class I ever heard of leaves out, is why people have sex. They usually tell the kids the lie that it's so they can make a baby, while contraceptive sales make it very clear that most people having sex try very hard not to make babies.
The old White man who proposed the Texas law said woman should not have sexual intercourse to avoid the problem. Not really a good "solution" to the sex issue! Just means more oral and anal sex in Texas. Probably not what he was wishing for...

A few things have happened on this issue the past several days. - A San Antoinio Doctor admintted in WaPo to performing an abortion after this Law was signed, stating he cared more for his patient's health, than the law.
- An Arkasas disbarred lawyer who has a history of shenanigans and is in severe debt is suing the doctor to at least get the $10K...because he needs the money.
- An pro-choice man is suing the doctor to get the case into court to show that the case is unconstitutional.
Many anti-abortioninsts are concerned that their "lawsuit-proof" law might not be so lawsuit proof.  Smart people are saying that Conservatives shot themselves in the foot with this one.
