Hey again, all. I had to catch up with all that has been posted since I was here last. It was a lot, so I can't cover it all.

1) I still have hundreds of LPs. I now have a turntable that will convert them to digital. I've not yet connected it to a worthwhile computer, but intend to. I have some really odd and rare items, too - like a whole mess of Shakespeare plays from the BBC with Michael and Vanessa Redgrave in various roles, and a series of interviews from Armed Forces Radio from the 1970s. (I also have the War of the Worlds, but it's on CD.)

2) I've been following the latest reports on the Petito-Laundrie situation. I think he is a sociopath. I think she had a personality disorder, but mostly I think he killed her (and maybe two other women - Kylen Schulte, and her wife, Crystal Turner, who were shot to death in the La Sal Mountains on on Aug. 12, outside of Moab/Arches - but that is pure speculation, because I don't know if he was armed) because he was losing control over her.

3) And I don't think he committed suicide. He doesn't seem to have that personality. I believe his parents have assisted in throwing law enforcement off his trail. (Neighbors Saw Brian Laundrie, Family Leave House with Camper After Gabby Petito Vanisheds) Note: he has been indicted for using her debit card after she was dead. That indicates he is not feeling remorse in the normal way, but looking to get away.

4) I am using this frustrated energy to change my personal focus onto the other missing persons, but it is hard to take all of that in. There is just too much suffering to bear, frankly.

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.

Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

NWP - on your item 3 - I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re right. men who are violent towards women believe it is not their own fault, and if that’s the case, no guilt and therefore no reason for suicide. I think I’ve also read a similar description of serial killers.

When I mentioned the "lizard brain", it's not in any way trying to make an excuse for bad behavior. I'm actually incensed about all those Native American women who are missing and totally ignored by the public. I just have looked for a reason why people do things. And the "people" I was talking about was NOT the kidnappers, sex traffickers, or murderers. (I would gladly pull the string that sends them directly to hell.) I was talking about the rest of humanity. NOT anybody who would do any of those things.

Why do we fixate on Gabby, and ignore all those other victims? There has to be a reason. We are generally good and do manage to not do evil stuff, even if our hormones generate some pretty nasty fantasies. Is it testosterone poisoning?

But I see a lot of posting on the internet about "Karens": Women who behave badly. I suspect there is a lot of misogyny driving this.

My single experience with domestic violence was putting bruises on my first wife's wrists while preventing her from stabbing me with a large kitchen knife.
