That is quite a story Rick. And thank you for being so honestly comprehensive. As I had stated earlier regarding this site I was never so much interested in politics but mostly as to what the motivations for people are and why they do what they do. To me that inquiry seems to answer the questions of why some people are so easily manipulated.

When my old dog goes, I plan to replace him as soon as possible. A companion animal is important to me.

I’m kind of surprised myself that I have not gotten a new dog by now. I’ve been to the shelter a few times but nothing clicked for me. Part of my problem is I’m looking for a clone of Aggie and I know that’s not possible. But I still hope.

I would say to wait until you come back from Hawaii to get a dog.

BUT, if you meet one now, don't turn down the opportunity. Since you have to go through Portland anyway to fly out, I know a family in Tigard that will take care of your new dog for a month. They love dogs and they'll watch and take care of your dog because I asked them to.

I got Rocksus only because I missed Sam so much. Sam and I lived on the 7th floor of the building I just moved out of, and Rocksus lived right below me on the 6th floor. Sam and Rocksus look similar - except Sam had two gold eyes, and Rocksus has one brown and one light blue. Otherwise, they look like they could have come from the same litter, but 12 years apart.

Sam and Rocksus met before.

Rocksus' owner was being deployed to North Carolina, and he asked me if I wanted Rocksus. I said yes.
