It’s my guess that these sorts of shenanigans in the Catholic Church are diminishing. The reason for that being is that the spotlight is totally on them unlike 30 years ago when most of the parishioners did not believe this sort of thing could be happening. Although many years ago John Callahan (bless his heart) drew a cartoon whereby a group of Catholic priests were sitting around a big cake and an altar boy popped out of the top much to their glee.
So it was known for quite some time that these sorts of things were happening even if, as I say, most of the parishioners did not believe so.
Callahan himself claimed to have been molested by a nun when he was eight.
Elsewhere, who knows?
