Isn’t that a chit-kicker? I remember buying that album when it first came out in the late 60’s. It’s filed away somewhere in my LP collection but I haven’t dug it out in quite some time. I remembered it when this Le and Les discussion began.
For the performance that was the first time Benny Bailey (the trumpet player) ever played with them. Benny Bailey was usually a big band trumpet player. He left for Europe in the late 50s, as did a number of US musicians and artistic types, and never returned.
