Many Universities have mycology societies usually with a real Mycology professor for guidance. They have lectures and collecting field trips in season, which is probably much longer than our here. We have a cabin in Maine on a lake, and we have never in 30 years seen such a proliferation of all sorts of mushroom. Many are newer variants of old friends Bolets, but its a very good idea to check in with the local mycology groups as they know of new arrivals that look similar to old edible, but are NOT. None were lethal bad actors, but they warned about having enthusiastic exciting bowel experiences. Im not so up for such excitement!
