Yes indeed. A case of explosive diarrhea does not sound like a fun way to spend an afternoon. Have you ever gotten sick from eating wild mushrooms you harvested? And also do you have such a mushroom festival in your area? They sound like a lot of fun to me as well as learning a useful skill.
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

My construct of what an excellent mycology expert would be has the following criteria: #1. real credentials, but not a novice who hasnt had enough experience to make bad toxic choices, yet #2. Old enough with enough experience to have died had he/she made a serious mistaken determination of toxic #3. Not so old as to be having dementia, as fungi are migrating and changing all the time, and short term memory is needed to cope with changing biofungomes #4. Is a local expert with connections to other locals! Like real estate, edible collecting is all about location location The local society is like 50 folks. I dony know of a festival, but I havent been looking for super-spreader events lately. I have never been sick from schrooms, but Im very particular about IDs. I use microscopes to study pore prints and spore morphology, and get anything im uncertain about confirmed by experts. My liver is one of my 8 favorite organs and dont want to hurt is with mushroom toxins, though other toxins are frequently tested

The liver is such an amazing organ. It just astonishes me that so many people are doing their best to kill their liver with ethanol. Such a boring toxin, when there are so many fascinating ones available.

Is that true? I thought a liver was needed to remove toxins? Can medical science grow you one? I read about one of the organs that can be regrown, and all the lab does is use a dissolvable skeletal structure and use your stem cells, then grow you a new one.

I hate liver, warm liver leaves me cold. I hate liver, I'll never eat it when I grow old...

I hate liver, warm liver leaves me cold. I hate liver, I'll never eat it when I grow old... I've never had it . I don't want to find out if I like it or hate it. I've been in a house that was cooking liver - I got a sense of the stuff that way.
