It does make the case less complicated that he's White and shot three White men. But it comes down to him taking a gun to a riot, and then bad stuff happened. I think they have to punish him for that, else lots of people will do that. And what people think of as "the good guy with a gun" is not necessarily going to win next time.
The basic problem is "Stand Your Ground". All states used to say you had an obligation to retreat, if things got out of hand. Now many states, and many people, think they should just shoot anybody they fear. But there is fear on both sides in any conflict, and these laws just protect the last person standing no matter what he did.

And now in Texas with the new open carry laws, all the 30,000 whack-jobs that were rejected for licenses can open carry wherever they want witout ANY restriction. Did you ever see a paranoid schizophrenic who was not always feeling threatened by most anybody they saw on the street. It gives so many new opportunities to exwhorsize the "Stand your Ground" Hunting license! How Nature says DO NOT TOUCHTAT

Not really, because in Rightwing thinking, those three men are no better than the black man who was shot in the back by Law Enforcement - which is what the protests were about. Again, Rightwing thinking: How can you be a decent person is you're siding with black American?

If Kyle is not held accountable, then Rightwingers will consider it open season on antiFA and BLM protesters in the future.

Oops, looks like the blue hydrogen producers need to be way more green, and they're sorta stuck in a corner. At the COP26 environmental summit, a study released says that hydrogen production from natural gas produces a whole host of deadly emissions, like methane. What's more, the carbon capture process employed doesn't even help much. WaPo: It’s hailed as the clean energy of the future. But hydrogen produces ‘substantial’ emissions, study shows“Hydrogen made from natural gas leads to more fugitive emissions — methane that is leaked into the environment during the extraction and processing of natural gas — compared to just burning natural gas directly,†said Fiona Beck, from the Australian National University, who co-authored the peer-reviewed paper. “Including [carbon capture and storage] in the process actually increases fugitive emissions further, as more natural gas is needed to fuel the process.â€

You’ve heard people say the good old days weren’t all that good?
On the radio this morning, I heard a restatement: for a lot of people, normal isn’t some place they’re anxious to get back to. The program in question was about water security but a lot of things fall into a bad old “normal.â€

Extremists have taken over and removed any sense of sanity from the law. And this is the State where a whack extremist xenophobe murdered a Walmart full of people?
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

Hydrogen is a great fuel, but making hydrogen from methane has no advantages over just burning the methane. So that means hydrogen touting is currently a scam, since that is how most of it is made. Make it some other way that does not use fossil carbon, and it could be great. But it's always just going to be a way to store energy, not a "primary energy source". Where "primary energy source" means some process where you can externalize all your costs and waste products.
If you used solar or wind to crack it from water, that would be carbon-neutral. But ammonia is actually easier to use for hydrogen storage than compressing H2 gas. It liquifies MUCH easier, and each molecule has three hydrogens.

Interesting article in Huffpost: Covid OriginThe author interviewed a lot of patients and doctors in Wuhan, and thinks the index case was a vendor at the seafood market, where live animals susceptible to the virus were being sold. She went symptomatic a few days before the accountant WHO identified did. The problem is that she might have been the index case of Covid-19, but many SARS-COV2 infections are asymptomatic. So there could have been a lot of people who had infections but no symptoms before her! Or even symptomatic cases among hunters in Southern China or Laos who collected those animals and it either was never reported or not recognized by anybody until it got to Wuhan with their high-tech virology lab. I think the best "virus origin" info is still the paper from the Pasteur Institute that showed all the SARS-COV2 RNA segments recombined from 15 other bat viruses.
