A major problem with our very strict criteria for a guilty verdict in criminal law, unanimity, is that in a country where about half voted for the un-indicted twice impeached former guy, it would be hard to avoid hung juries.

Civil law is more flexible, with the preponderer of evidence to win the case. Unfortunately many of the miscreants know full well that the hard core followers would be delighted to contribute to cover any fines or penalties.

Together these factors have served that administration very well, even without having pardon authority until 2024 when all Federal Crimes will disappear in a flash.

There needs to be a way to put some teeth into law, similar to those laws that prevent convicted criminals from profiting from their crimes or civil violations, by writing a book or selling movie rights glorifying their misdeeds.

For those who would rather read than watch the video. Many sentences and concepts are complex and may require re-reading and considering.

So who gets to decide who’s stupid?

Will it be skull shapes? Ethnicity? Voting the correct way? Diplomas? Chasing ghost stories?

How about simply having a conservation with someone and deciding that way? Hmm

You mean there needs to be a way to lock up our political enemies even though the law doesn't say they should be locked up...it's a slippery slope.

If the average Republican watched that Boneheffer video they would think WE were the stupid ones.

Remember that half black half white episode of star trek?

And if they used the wrong words we'd know they were stupid.

It's the WORNG Words that matter
Therein lies the rub, dry or moist, marinade is a myth.
Soaking in it for hours, days, or years only permeates the most porous, that are unfortunately way too numerous for democracy, let alone socialism to survive.

I don't think being stupid is having a different political/philosophical/economic/etc view than I. I suspect, since ignorance is a choice, I believe choosing ignorance is stupid. Thus a person who chooses ignorance and then makes any claims based on that ignorance IS stupid.

A belief in the Easter Bunny is not in itself stupid, but the choice to remain ignorant of the existence of the Easter Bunny, regardless of how strongly one believes in it, is stupid.

The iconic, and soon to be classic example of stupid, is the J Klepper bit when he asked a person a question about Pres Obama's birth. That person said , she didn't care what the facts were, she had her beliefs and nothing would ever change her mind. Unbriddled and complete stupidity.

some random thoughts

ignorance is the enemy
without equality there is no liberty
America can survive bad policy, but not destruction of our Democratic institutions
