You actively participated in the 4 years of Russiagate comes to my mind. Both gaslighting and gas lit. Trump sent me more money than Biden. Typical of Democrats, Biden promised those 2k stimmy checks would go out immediately if there was a win in the Georgia races. No one noticed the Asterix. 2k is 1400 in Neoliberal mathematics. Sending people to the polls during a primary, when the pandemic was rapidly spreading, seems sociopathic to me. Meanwhile, some more analysis on where all that Russophobia has assisted in our current geopolitical moment: “ Now, in the latest remarks to come from the Kremlin, it would appear that we all, my peers among Western commentators and I, have been wrong-footed. Putin has said as clearly as conceivable within the traditional language of international diplomacy that if the USA puts offensive missile systems onto Ukrainian soil, thereby cutting the warning time of attack on Moscow to 5-7 minutes, then the Russians will station their hypersonic attack missiles on surface and submarine vessels within 5-7 minutes striking distance of Washington, D.C. In short, what we potentially now have before us is the Cuban Missile Crisis Redux. Only this time the gamblers with the fate of the world are playing with the cards face up.†Russian attack on Ukraine imminent? One things for sure. No matter who’s in the whitehouse or who controls Congress, our foriegn policies are as murderous and rabidly anti-left as ever with Ivy League sociopaths running the blob.

Here’s a coherent article published in the American Conservative regarding weapons sales to and our involvement with Saudi Arabia. This nugget stands out for me: “ There is also hypocrisy in the U.S. decrying the rise of a global “democratic recession†while supporting an authoritarian regime in a war that may wipe out a generation of children. U.S. interests coincide with moral imperatives. There are no hard tradeoffs here; the moral path is also the strategically sound path. The U.S. can save millions of lives while extricating itself from a conflict that doesn’t endanger Americans.†Senate Skeptics Are Right: End Missile Sales To Saudi ArabiaSo, yeah, I’m not knee jerk opposed to anything a conservative has to say. I find rightwing extremism a different stripe than conservatism. I also see Jan 6th and Russiagate opposite sides of the same rightwing coin. Both have faithfuls looking to delegitimization of an election. The differences are only form.

You've convinced me - they are the same.
Now what?

I’m thinking the same as you - painted into a corner, no options…
Maybe get drunk and screw?

Now what? Recognizing that there is a problem is the first step toward solving it. Now what? I'd say steep yourself in neo-Marxism for ways to outsmart the stupids. Best first to have a firm grasp orthodox Marxism though.

In defense of stupid (someone’s gotta do it) is, between the two sides the 1/6’s have so much more juice. I mean, c’mon! Great street theater, a fasci sort of jet ski owners solidarity, giving themselves over to a common cause.
The NeoLibs on the other hand… I’m not as entertained. Sure, the pee tape reporting was fun for a bit. Watching coed anchors talking about golden showers had its own kind of entertainment but the rest? Sooo boring. Weird low rent favor seekers trying to get a payday by selling wolf tickets to the Trump campaign. Servers connected to banks. Low apparatchiks boasting of knowledge in Greek restaurants. It’s all so yellow cakes, meeting in Budapest, so early oughts Iraq war rewrites.
The other side has elected officials hunting pedo’s in caves. May not have been specifically accurate but at least they were directionally with pizza gate.
Which brings me to my favorite intrigue. The Ghislaine Maxwell case. Boy howdy, there’s a story for me! It’s got class conflict, Caribbean sex compounds, bipartisan political deviancy, honeypot intrigue. Foriegn intelligence ties.
So much more fire!

The point, Loggy, is that both parties have firmly resisted any influence from the actual left. The Democratic Party has attacked socialism with more vehemence than the Republicans and defend themselves with great vigor when accused of being "socialists" by the other capitalist party. (or independent socialists like me) BOTH parties seek capitalist answers to every problem. One party gives lip service to the concerns of the people, dangling carrots at every election, but the carrots get yanked away, and the cash goes to the corporations. Two right-wing parties. Two capitalist parties. Playing good cop bad cop. Playing liberals like fools. The facade is weakening though, as younger Americans are looking around and wondering why their slice of the pie goes to Bezos and Musk and Gates et al. Ten Years. Take your vitamins and mind your liver. Eat right sit tight... Better Times Will Come
