The point, Loggy, is that both parties have firmly resisted any influence from the
actual left. The Democratic Party has attacked
socialism with more vehemence than the Republicans and defend themselves with great vigor when accused of being "socialists" by the other capitalist party. (or independent socialists like me)
BOTH parties seek capitalist answers to every problem.
One party gives lip service to the concerns of the
people, dangling carrots at every election, but the carrots get yanked away, and the cash goes to the
corporations.
Two right-wing parties. Two capitalist parties. Playing good cop bad cop. Playing liberals like fools.
The facade is weakening though, as younger Americans are looking around and wondering why their slice of the pie goes to Bezos and Musk and Gates
et al.
