I say, as long as the Fed keeps shoveling money into private enterprises they should put those shares they’re mopping up into a sovereign wealth fund that pays every American a dividend annually.
Seems like the rich keep getting bailed out while everyone else, without major investments, had to suck it up,
Figure out what enterprises are worth saving, take shares for the SWF and liquidate this’d companies that are not worth saving.
Did the government have to do so much bailing out under the New Deal consensus with all that high levels of unionization? Seems like mr market don’t mind getting into one of those ‘entitlement’ mentalities when it gets itself into a jam, happening more frequently.
Who here remembers having the GDP go down while stock indices hit record highs? That seems to be the pattern now. Bigger and bigger bailouts to the stock owner class, socializing profit, but if you lose your job or can’t make payments? For the most part, your on your own.
Who is benefitting from that arrangement?
