In January, the UK High Court will decide if Julian Assange can be extradited to the US to face espionage charges. But the actual spy was Edward Snowdown, who has taken up residence in Russia. All of Snowden's info was probably already had by the Russians before Assange published it. So who did Assange give secret info to? Us? I think all he's guilty of is embarrassing the US government, which is not a crime as far as I know. You can't even say he betrayed the US, since he is Australian. He doesn't owe any allegiance to the US.

I wouldn't be surprised if he gets extradited, tried, and found Not Guilty. By the same logic, we should arrest Putin in some third country, extradite him to the US, and try him for any number of crimes against the interests of the US.

Didn’t the UK already say that Assange could be extradited to the US and the news caused him to have a stroke - literally? Hmm

Just saw your post PIA. As I said earlier I wonder how many people would actually get that local Hawaii humor who didn’t grow up there. All kinds of small subtleties but I suppose that could also be said of humor from other regions of the US.

But still…….

Never actually lived in either Hawaii or Minnesota, but I still love Rap and Garrison Keilor's local humor. I like "You Might Be a Redneck" material, too. Never lived in the South, either.

2 whole inches? Hardly seems worth mentioning. I've been in Mammoth when they had 20 feet. They had to close some of the ski lifts, because one or both ends was under the snow.

Snow? We get that about once every 10 years or so down here. Even the threat of snow flurries will bring about a mad rush to the grocery store for milk, eggs and bread. The grocery store will be sold out within a couple of hours after the announcement that snow flurries are possible. I think the last time we had snow that stuck on the ground was around 5 or 6 years ago. Woke up with the grass covered, but by 10 or 11 in the morning, it was all gone. But businesses, schools and the like were all closed for the day.

Now ice storms, we’ll get a couple of those a year. Usually caused when the rains come in the 40’s and that night the temp drops below freezing. I suppose technically those aren’t ice storms, but that’s what we call them.

I like it that way, I always hated cold weather.

It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.
