It's different for PR this time. MAJOR, MAJOR US companies are investing in PR. Sunrun for example. HUGE investment. Jacuzzi was going to have a national symposium there, two weeks ago, but cancelled in December due to OMICRON
Home Depot, Cosentino, Jacuzzi, Sunrun just to name a few....
Why retire in Costa Rica or Portugal, when you can retire in PR?
Just watched Aziz Ansari's new special on Netflix. Pretty good! The last bit is his asking the audience what they've done to limit their time on social media and the internet, and their answer was practically nothing. He told them he had deleted his Instagram account. Then he confessed: He got rid of his Smart Phone and joined "Team Flip". (Got a Flip Phone.) I had to laugh, because that's exactly what I did a few years back...
I had a flip until April 2020 when the pandemic hit. I said I would never have a smart phone unless the plans were what I was paying for my flip. At the time, I was with AT&T and the flip was $12 mo.
I joined Cricket Wireless for $15 mo for a smart phone...2.0G data. Six weeks after joining, in mid-May, Cricket texted me that the plan was going to $30 mo in July 2020. Of course I had a fit and they even locked the phone so I could not join another carrier.
. I found a T-Mobile plan for $15 mo + tax. (Cricket didn't charge tax). Bought an Apple phone at the Apple store so the phone could never be locked and joined T-Mobile. Been with T-Moble ever since. Still $15 mo + tax, but I get 2.5G data.
Did a charge-back on the Cricket iPhone with the credit card company and won the dispute because the dispute was based upon "bait and switch" by Cricket.
I don't have many apps but for banking apps. No social media. Seri has been turned off in all apps. In fact, I don't use Seri at all. I don't use 2-step authentication. I mostly use the smart phone portion of the phone when I go to new places for directions and to read the news on the ferry.
When I joined Criket Wireless, they sold me an iPhone7 for $199.00 + tax which came to $217. When I bought the iPhone at the Apple store, it was $399 for an iPhone10.5. It had been only four months since the bought the iPhone7 and it wa no longer available anywhere to purchase. When i charged-back the phone on my credit card, essentially getting all of $217 back for the iPhone7, Apple offered to buy the iPhone7 from me for $140. I sold it to Apple.
So the iPhone10.5 which cost $399 essentially really only coat me $42 because of the $217 charge-back refund and the $140, Apple gave me for the locked Cricket iPhone7. I'm sure Apple simply unlocked the iPhone7 and resold the phone to someone else.
My phone costs $35 at Target, and my unlimited talk and text plan costs $25 per month, with $15 each for additional phones that share the unlimited minutes and text. It's 4GLTE. I do internet stuff on my wide-screen monitor at home with a very good cable modem connection. I'm retired, so I spend almost all my time at home anyway. No need to squint at a tiny screen to see email, web pages, and Netflix.
The parents who are concerned about students wearing masks at school, learning CRT - college level law class, what books are on the school library shelf, are the very same parents who don’t support public schools and homeschool their kids. So why are they showing-up at school board meetings?
Can these people be any worse at being decent human beings?
