18 U.S. Code § 2071 - Concealment, removal, or mutilation generally

(a)Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

(b)Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both; and shall forfeit his office and be disqualified from holding any office under the United States. As used in this subsection, the term “office” does not include the office held by any person as a retired officer of the Armed Forces of the United States.

He’s not even being held accountable for violations of the Emolements Clause.

We simply don't really know just who are doing what when it comes to Trump, crime, poor judgement, etc. Its my fond hope that everybody investigating Trump will eventually figure they have enough for him to hang himself. I also keep on wondering if there are any laws against some of which he has done. Can somebody ignore the constitution, claim a right to ignore it and destroy government? Is it alright to lie, cheat and steal because they were president? Can they continually ignore the law and claim its a secret and get away with it?

What would be of interest is somebody to make a list of what we might actually believe he has done. Betcha a list like that could grow, and grow and grow with with much vigor.

In my realm of wishful thinking I would be delighted to see indictments made and charges brought. We all know that our justice takes time, sometimes a lot more than we might think is reasonable. I think the problem is in the investigations as they all seem, with the exception of the house investigation but, actually, they haven't really released a lot themselves. So, wishful me is just hoping that all that effort produces results and that sucker is on his way to prison. Actually it might even be better if he goes to Russia and claims asylum!!

There is no question that Trump is a criminat and he's broken numerous laws.

Pretty much everyone agrees that the Ottawa-Detroit truck protest is American conservative astroturf backed. Now they want to do the protest in DC. These people won't be happy until there is blood spilled. If they think there is inflation now why until these yahoos start pulling their stunts all over - they'll really crash the economy.

....and good ol' patriot Raphael Cruz (R-TX) said to the truckers to keep the shelves empty and starve the people. Aren't righwingers just really terrific people?

I wouldn’t go that far Rick but I would say, as I was suggesting earlier, that there are external forces at work here. I hate to sound like conspiracy theorist because I am not…but in this case yes indeed there are certain external and internal forces involved to promote and encourage this sort of insanity.

Their goals? So far unknown except to encourage discord and malcontent.

I stay in touch with a few Canadian relatives. It is doubtful anyone else on this board has Canadian relatives that they can stay in touch with and discuss these sorts of events. If there are some I would like to hear from them. Hey, I figure a one and four chance might be good. Or at least possible.

A little aside.

Have any of you out there paid attention to certain facial expressions expressed by interview-eeze in certain telecasts? I am specifically referring to those who claim to have certain “true” conspiratorial knowledge. None of it gleaned from “fake news” of course. If you look into their eyes and also watch their facial gestures it is obvious that they are convinced that they are “insiders”, ones who possess certain valuable inside information that the rest of us fake news consumers absolutely do not have. Nor ever will.

Exclusive and solely inclusive “valuable” knowledge.

And how do they gain that certain inside knowledge and absolute certaintude?

Only the sphinx “nose”.
