As I said earlier and I shall repeat myself. Thank you very much Pero for being a member of this board. I greatly appreciated your numbers crunching and I never viewed them to be political. In other words leaning one way or another, but IMO you were just trying to point out the numbers you saw in front of you then relay the conclusions to us. Of course all of us have certain political biases….as we are human beings after all. I am the only one without them. What’s next on the agenda? A cooking/recipe board?
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.

Thank You Ken. I do this for every election. Usually limited to senate and house monthly forecasts. The presidency also in presidential years. With this being a redistricting year, I concentrated more on the redistricting part than the forecast part. I’ll continue to do so, post these on other sites. I do let the numbers talk, not the heart or personal feelings. Numbers aren’t partisan, they’re also available for all to see whether one likes what they see or not. Keeping personal feelings and wants out of the equation is the key to having an accurate forecast.
It's a shame RR is gone. I enjoyed it here. I wish you all could see how overtime one party has an advantage, loses it, regains it, numbers go up and down. Today, going by 42 states and their numbers, the Democrats stand a 50-50 chance of keeping control of the house. Gaining a seat or 2 in the senate.
Taking a SWAG once all 50 states complete their redistricting, not knowing the numbers when that happens, I think the Republicans will take the house, 10-15 seats gain over the 213 they have today. In the senate, it may be the GOP that gains a seat or two. Now there are always an unforeseen event, maybe two that happens along the way that upsets this whole applecart leaving the SWAG meaningless. I’ll leave you with this, the numbers today mean little to nothing for November. They show what will happen today if the election were today. Therefore, I usually do these monthly up to 1 Nov which is my last one. It’s been fun.
I wish everyone the best, stay well and safe.
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

I'm sick of it Greger. Sick...of...it... We all are. But I see silver linings where you only see clouds. You see, Rick, when fascists win, they never win for long. They get a few glorious years then it all comes crumbling down. Mussolini was shot by partisans, Hitler shot himself. Arguing with people on the internet is a hopeless pastime. It will make you angry and bitter. And whining about it on internet forums won't make it go away. What will make it go away is the next few generations. They are less racist, less classist, less homophobic, less xenophobic and they expect the government to deliver services like Amazon delivers product. They are better educated and have been born into a digital world still run by analog governments. The next few years are liable to be ugly. We are about to enter into a war with Russia. Global economies are currently weak and poorer countries failing. The grits is about to hit the fan. And I'm really going to miss this place.

I'm sick of it Greger. Sick...of...it... You see, Rick, when fascists win, they never win for long. They get a few glorious years then it all comes crumbling down. And in those glorious few years we've seen them murder millions, assembly line style. When authoritarians of any stripe win, they murder millions or even TENS of millions assembly line style. And in the end, they don't actually LOSE the way most understand the definition of the word. Mussolini was shot by partisans, yes...but even today you find people who yearn for "the good old days when the trains ran on time". Hitler did himself in with poison if I remember correctly, but even after Germany unconditionally surrendered, we still see massive numbers of people who venerate him as a god, don't we? Sorry, but when authoritarians win, they win forever because their martyrdom resonates with millennia of conditioning by religion.

we still see massive numbers of people who venerate him as a god, don't we? No, we don't. We see handful of malcontents now and then who copy a few Nazi mannerisms for the shock value and exposure it will get them. Most of that crowd would call democrats antisemites for sympathizing with Palestine.

Most of that crowd would call democrats antisemites for sympathizing with Palestine. I see... So all those neo-nazis at Charlottesville must have been BLM? Look, Klan don't wear white hoods and robes anymore, and most Nazis don't goosestep and say Seig Heil anymore either, but January 6th was a fascist insurrection, and it's supported by, at minimum, 147 members of Congress. That's open support for fascism, which means that fascism's greatest exponents are admired by many. Pay very close attention to who blames Democrats for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. When viewed through the lens of people who defend Jan. 6. I can bet money you're going to see a very interesting Venn Diagram. The same people will also go into full outrage mode when Biden slams Putin with sanctions... ...almost as if they are Russian assets. Of course you do realize Russia isn't communist anymore, Putin loves fascism now.

Getting back on topic, what are we all going to do to stay in touch when the Rant goes away? I can't just toss nearly twenty years and hundreds of good people away like it never mattered. It matters. You matter, all of you matter, and history matters.

If everyone was on facebook and everyone wanted to stay in touch it would be easy. But it ain't like we're all close pals or anything. And there's just a handful of us left.
I'm "friends" with PIA but his last entry was in 2018. Friends too with Ken Condon but he never uses FB either. You apparently unfriended me and I'm cool with your decision. Melanie and Jules are friends I see fairly often there.
We had a nice little reunion a while back when a lot of the old timers stopped by, that was likely the last hurrah.
I think I'm done with politics and I'm certainly done with arguing with people on the internet.

Getting back on topic, what are we all going to do to stay in touch when the Rant goes away? Can't us Ranters find a hosting site for RR? It's not like we get a gazillion posts and eat up data and storage usage. Mebbe we can even partner with Doug so that articles on CHB get discussed here - thereby creating cross-over Ranters.. Then RR and CHB both can continue on. There is no reason why these legacy sites should go away - just pass the torch.
