My Facebook story.

Around 2011, there was a group of neighborhood peeps, men and women, who got together for extreme sports/exercise at various local parks. The only way to meet-up was to have access to the group Facebook account, because the location changed each meeting to keep the exercise fresh. crazy

I created an account called Rick Brentwood. Rick for me, and Brentwood for the city I lived in. I also needed a FB account to comment on some political sites back then, Fine, whatever.

Then I moved to P-land and got a job with my current company. I signed on to FB once day as Rick Brentwood and immediately FB asked me if i knew this person and that person. The "problem" was, they were all people I worked with. The only way FB could have known where I worked is that even in 2014, the company payroll was 100% online. Not only did FB know what company I worked for, but even the branch because all of those names were at the branch location.

Then about two years ago, I needed to send a friend some money. All i had was PayPal and all he had was Venmo. Fine, I'll get a Venmo account. So I did. Immediately, Venmo asked me if I knew this person or that person. Again, all people from work, but this time, they were all former vanpool riders. I immediately took Venmo off my phone.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not into nosey, creepy, social media computers.

I now keep my vanpool contact list in notes, nothing is in my contacts, and I never get asked nosey questions by a computer. smile
