I"m sure web archive.org has a lot of it.

Trouble is, archive.org can't always save everything very well, depends on the material.
They might have a bunch of posts but they might be scattered willy nilly, hard to say.
I went to archive.org and had a look around. RR earlier web archive is February 2006. it's just stumps - meaning thread titles. Nothing in them when you click on the titles.

That's what I was referring to.
A friend of mine is a walking talking Leon Russell encyclopedia and he used to have "MergeOp's Leon Russell Page" back in the old days.
His collection was so complete that even Leon HIMSELF remarked about it.

"I don't always remember everything I did and sometimes I have to go look something up on EJ's site to see if I really did work on that record."

Ernie was absolutely floored.
But when we found his retired site on The Wayback Machine a lot of it was just stumps, as you said.
He finally reloaded his old site somewhere and filled it all back in but at least Wayback had the bare bones.

Have either of you clicked on the "popular topics" lately?

You'll find everything intact.

You'll run into the stubs in other places though, searching through the forums sometimes goes noplace.

We need to be rid of a lot of it. The software has been updated as best it can be but it's still old and creaky.

Meanwhile…there is a Russian invasion going on as part of Putin’s attempt to re-colonize Ukraine.

That has been the attitude of many conquered people.

It looks like there is a weakness in the new software that lets the F word through intact! nono
I wonder which other words can sneak through ROTFMOL
I haven't visited the bad kitty box for I while, but I did call it home at times. I hope they changed the litter sick
There may be a need for a BAD DOG HOUSE! grin

Tat, you can be as crude as you like. It degrades only you. Because I am a gentleman I always use an asterisk somewhere in most dirty words.

There's a BIG difference from typing the word into a post, and sharing a Twitter image. coffee

The database is 694 MB in size, which makes it difficult to download and move as well. It will have to be done in steps.

It's huge.

But I think we can save it.

Doug

Wait, did you just say that the entire posting database (all posts) is only 694 MB?
That will fit on a data stick.
And thirteen terabytes? That must be ALL graphics and all the other nuts and bolts, and truth be told a Seagate Exos 16TB Enterprise HDD will handle that
and I'd be more than happy to muster up at least part of the 300 bucks it would cost to get one of those.
Hell for that matter a 12 TB Western Digital MyBook external is only about two hundred bucks.
