We have quite a lot of Ukrainians here. Most of them seem to be good looking women. I know at least two guys that married Ukrainians up here. I have read that Washington state has more than 100,000 Ukrainians. I haven't knowingly spoken to one in a couple of years but, up to then they were not, apparently, all that political. Ukrainians seem to get around!

Ukranians have known this was coming for a long time. And, in the best of times Ukraine isn't exactly the land of opportunity...Even with all our flaws the US still offers a chance for a better life to many. Those who could left before the bombs fell.

Most Ukrainian refugees today are women, children, and old men. All men under 60 have been conscripted to fight in the war.

I say, if they will work let 'em come! Our birthrate is a joke and there are help wanted signs all over my little town and, I have been told its that way all over. I know, the Republicans will claim all them foreigners are stealing all our jobs but the simple fact is that there doesn't seem to be enough American folks willing to work. There are a LOT of homeless folks that could work but, obviously, they would prefer to beg on the street because we seem to have a bunch of damned fools that actually give them money.

I now keep a little list of open jobs. When one begs from me I ask why he just doesn't get a job. If they say there aren't any I give them a copy of the list, wish them good luck and walk on.

Those who attempted the coup on January 6, 2021 are still allowed to run for office under the democratic system that they tried to cancel.
Does that seem right to anyone?

Nope. And I think it's not supposed to be allowed. MTG is lying her ass off right now trying to avoid it.

Sen's Cruz and Blackburn wondered why they are on the SPLC hate list. I guess no one told them what they have said can easily be interpreted as hate speech. This is entirely the reason most Republicans do not realize they are bigots and probably racists. One of those is too smart to not understand and the other is your typical ignorant Trump Base supporter and so would never understand.

Continuing in the same vein ...

Elected Republicans protected Rep Gosar and Greene after they attended a white supremacist rally. The protection was cloaked in the misdirection pointing to Fuentes as the problem without mentioning their own. They have used the same tactic protecting the Base with misdirection, pointing to an age old meme, the race card, as if that is an answer. The elected class knows it has a racist problem with the base, but it is the same base which elected them to office.

And, oddly enough, the racist base elected a lot of racist officials into office.
