While "everyone" has been busy watching the public flogging of one errant Will Smith, seems like more than a few have missed the self-flagellation of Marky-Mark aka Mark Wahlberg, aka "the good Catholic kid from Boston who isn't always very good and wants you to know how guilt-ridden he is." Alternating between Dirk Diggler in "Boogie Nights" and a four month apology tour in which he offered his body and blood to atone for such sins, then bouncing back to the almost Screw Magazine level perversion of "Ted" (an incredibly [censored] up stuffed animal doing some very [censored] up things) and now to Marky-Mark letting us all know that "Father Stu" is "his most important film yet" in which it seems like the actor is mounting another campaign to portray himself as a twenty-first century everyman wearing a tee shirt of thorns.
Sorry Mah-kee Mahk, I'm just not buying it.
But I will be waiting in the wings for the day you go all "pre-Vatican II" like Mel Gibson, build your own private church on the outskirts of Boston and fly into drunken rages where you spew conspiracy theories and antisemitic rants.
In fact, it's maybe even a little disturbing watching Mark from Boston cycle endlessly through a ping pong saturnalia of hedonism and guilt, almost like a DIY Postquam Dei munere. Mark, stop with the schizo stuff. You're either an actor or a choir boy but you ain't both.

Or the Trump campaign using Fortunate Son. Trump thought it was about him! It was (re heal spurs) but not at all in a good way.
I had to YouTube the song. I've heard it before, but it's not a song that is any rotation of mine.

A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

Oh yeah, almost forgot to mention that the YouTube mechanism doesn't work right, and the way to post a YouTube clip is by simply pasting the browser URL right into your text. It's actually EASIER than the PHPBB rigamarole, and it just shows up.
Were you trying to channel Carly Simon?

Roscoe is nearing his end. He may have a few weeks or a few months left. I'll be monitoring his quality of life as well as what it's costing me to keep him alive. He's 14 so he's got one foot on the rainbow bridge anyway...He's been the best dog ever.
I've just sponsored another rescue. Unless someone else gets him this will be my next dog. I haven't met him yet, he's 2 years old and a lifer with the animal league, a chonky puppy nobody wanted.

Our condolences. We've lost two treasured four-legged members of our family over the last three years and the pain remains.
