If Trump was a rational actor, he would be posting on Truth Social from Buenos Ares. But I'm not too concerned that he should flee before the indictments come down. He is sure that he can just make his case and convince everybody that what he did was justified. Even if people died.

Trump is supposedly, according to Alex Jones and Roger Stone, going to make the announcement that he's running for POTUS in 2024. The announcement is coming on July 4th, in a five days. The moron pro'lly thinks he can't be indicted if he's running for POTUS.

Rational thinkers might agree that it will make a greater political impact if the Democrats charge a candidate running against them of a crime.
More simply put...it will generate more outrage on the Republican side.
Even though it's more than two years until the presidential election and there's no reason for announcing a candidacy except to solicit donations...
Outrage and free press coverage add up to thousands of checks arriving in the mail written simply to Donald Trump...

What I see is democratic voter enthusiasm going up since the SCOTUS overturning ROE. Up from 32% pre-SCOTUS ruling to 40% more enthusiastic after the SCOTUS ruling. Republicans were at 47% more enthusiastic pre-overturning ROE, 46% after. Here’s the question - 78. Independents like Republicans, the overturning of ROE didn’t enhance or dampen their enthusiasm, 28% pre, 29% post. The party out of power being more enthusiastic about voting in a midterm is normal. They want to get back in power. But having a 15-20-point gap between the two party’s enthusiasm isn’t normal. This gap the GOP maintain from around July 2021 until the SCOTUS overturning of ROE decision. Which I attribute to what Republicans see as the unwarranted investigation of Trump by the Democratic controlled House. They’re mad. Now that the enthusiasm gap has evened out some, let’s see what happens if Trump is charged and brought to trial. Will the Republican enthusiasm about voting in this midterm go up? Then the second question, will the democratic enthusiasm go down as they got all they wished for? Time will tell as future events take place.
It's high past time that we start electing Americans to congress and the presidency who put America first instead of their political party. For way too long we have been electing Republicans and Democrats who happen to be Americans instead of Americans who happen to be Republicans and Democrats.

Time will tell as future events take place. It looks to me like both parties are successfully ginning up enthusiasm and outrage so we'll see a better than average turnout for the midterms. Democrats are not gonna sit home licking their economic wounds, reeps will show up to defend their tarnished honour. Races will be tight and hard-fought. But the outcome still seems written in stone.
