Trump did a lot of last minute appointees
after he lost the election, appointing anti-democracy appointees such as Kash Patel and Chris Miller to the DoD and Jeffrey Clark at DoJ. These people were appointed so they could help Trump remain in power. Then when it failed, they all helped to destroy the evidence.
