One wonders why, then, you'd support trying to pick a fight with the slanty eyed dude whos making all them cheap widgets? Not that I'd agree with your sentiments but the contradictions of your position are interesting

My support, or lack thereof, of an old woman visiting an island nation, will in no way affect the lives of slanty-eyed widget-makers half a world away.
You apparently like China a lot more than I do or fear them more. But I'm certainly willing to compromise!
You just tell me who to vote for in November that will change a single thing and I'll mark the ballot as instructed.
You want me to be outraged because Pelosi visited Taiwan? Okay, I'm outraged...
Does that fix anything?
Frankly, I would've advised against it but nobody asked me. It's almost as though they don't care about my opinion.
Good coffee, good weed, and time on my hands...

Wait whut? Your under the impression that I think anything posted here has any impact on anything?
No way Jose. I don’t vote, why should I care if you do, let alone for who? I’m just interested in where you draw your opinion from on this, IMO, dumbass and needless provocation, s’all. I could care less who you vote for.
A Ranter here claims to be a son of Jewish emigrants of Nazi German yet supports a western backed government with fascist elements. That’s interesting to me.
You say you want the cheap widgets from the slant eyes but have no problem with the geriatric queen blowing up long standing diplomatic agreements with the same slant eyes. Equally interesting.
From most of the angles I’m seeing it from, all the current troubles stem from a particular ideology that’s dominating state. PNAC is a thing with very clear ambitions and a record of form. The current admin has his State dept. pond stocked with the acolytes from that school of political economy.
As a leftist, I used to believe that corporations called the shots with most things in government but this ideological camp and their messianic ideology runs counter to so many corporate rice bowls I have to rethink that personal belief e we it’s the events of the last several months.
Sorry if I got your back up.

No way Jose. I don’t vote, why should I care if you do, let alone for who? Wait ... you don't vote but you hang out on political forums. That's going to take a moment to digest.

What’s to digest? My politics has no representation. Likewise, our political classes have no interest in representing them. I hang out in a political forum to to understand how politics is attempting to shape public opinion and which class. Specifically, with this thread, who’s supporting the official propaganda and what will be the official propaganda.
You think voting is a requirement to discussing political economy? If so, that seems absurd. Like disenfranchised people have no opinion, or right to one, of the political economy that does the disenfranchisement.
I do vote at the local level, btw. School budgets, ballot initiatives, local elections. The state and federal level is all stitched up by two frat houses engaged in theater while working over time to deny third parties from forming, denying new ideas to emerge. Democrats are the worst offenders of this currently.

My politics has no representation. Likewise, our political classes have no interest in representing them. I vote for Democrats anyway. Because one day they will realize that they are the socialist party. I'd rather Democrats represented me than Republicans. I think the reasons for that should be obvious. I know literally nothing of international politics. I think China was foolish to become the world's widget maker and heavy-handed in their transition from a pastoral, agricultural, self-sufficient population into an industrial powerhouse bent on world domination. My goal is to see this nation transition from an industrial powerhouse into a pastoral, agricultural, self-sufficient population. In little political spats with China my opinion is usually "F*ck China". If I lived in China it would probably be "F*ck the US". It's really just that simple. I come here to argue...I'll argue about anything with anybody. Even if they're right.

I’m against war, empire and exploitation. For egalitarianism, equal justice, fraternity, etc.
The Dems are much more into the three things listed that I’m against. Much more than the GOP that seems to be reorienting themselves around a more nativist position.
I have no beef with a Chinese person and good for them raising their standard of living and quality of life. A government that has delivered that. They made the mistake that Russia made in not laying down and letting the US financial interests (major donors to the Dem party, btw) carpet bag their countries resources and economies. This is upsetting to the ruling classes of this country that don’t truck with disobedience from their unipolar world view. Like their anger with Cuba, they’re p!ssed they can’t turn the world into their whore house and be the top pimp and customer.
At this point, the Democratic Party justifies itself to its donors as a rearguard action against any leftist policies, IMO. Witness Pelosi’s intervening in Texas primary between right wing Cuellar (sp?) and pro choice, medicare for all, etc Cisneros. Lavish money was showered on Cuellar by Dtrip, running ads against Cisneros in the closing weeks. The full intervention worked but only by 300 some votes. A leftist may as well run against the Republican Party as they do the Democrats in the primary. All the liberals bereavement over repealing Roe. They vote for a party that largely brought that about. Liberals refuse to see the copper stripping of their political party and believe the propaganda that’s laid on to distract.
But I’m straying from our current self made international relations crises were provoking in Asia. C’mon China! Stop materially improving the lives of your people and do communism the way we think it should be done or we’ll fight you to the last Taiwanese
