Of course Republicans want to control the Senate, and by extension government, on their march towards American Fascism where they are in control.
Trumpists and Republican-fascists of the MAGAverse have constructed an alternate reality in which the basic understanding of facts and truth - and also the meaning of democracy and freedom - have been debased and distorted. Fascism is fueled by such "alternative facts," and malignant realities. This fracture is something that Republicans aim to exploit and to further advance in the future.
