Okay...suppose my head explodes from the unfairness of it all and I also run around shrieking that the end is nigh.
What's to be gained from it..?

What's to be gained from it..? Again, an explosion is your choice. My head doesn't explode. It's like asking a person who specializes in automotive electronics what to do about a jacked up frame or a wrecked right front quarter panel.

I have a problem with the caption of this thread, "The con man, traitor and liar who tried to destroy America". THAT is past tense. The proper statement would be "The con man, traitor and liar who continues to try to destroy America". And he has so many accomplices.
One of my concerns is that there are, literally, hundreds of election deniers running for public office - many with actual election responsibilities - who have pledged to queer the upcoming election, and who have refused to state that they would accept the results of the election if they don't win. That is not how democracy works.
Donald Trump set the standard for deception and dishonor, and at least some of his acolytes will succeed in gaining office. That is a present problem, not a past or future problem.
A well reasoned argument is like a diamond: impervious to corruption and crystal clear - and infinitely rarer.
Here, as elsewhere, people are outraged at what feels like a rigged game -- an economy that won't respond, a democracy that won't listen, and a financial sector that holds all the cards. - Robert Reich

That is not how democracy works. I have been informed in no uncertain terms that I'm acting a wee bit hysterical over that subject and that hundreds of election deniers trying to screw with the elections by overturning the results is really no big deal. STOP ACTING "HYSTERICAL" NWP! <<<<----sarcasm

You can act hysterical about anything you want. It's your insistence that I also act hysterical that I disagree with.

My head doesn't explode. Once again, proof that you don't ACTUALLY read pretty much anything I say. It's like you see "Jeffery J. Haas" and just automatically make something up that I didn't say. I'm not actually here to "change your mind" but likewise, I am bound to respond when anyone laughs off what's happening and dismisses almost all of it as hysteria. Some really bad s*** is going to happen to what remains of our democracy if Republicans take power again in their current form. And...by the way Pero? Fascism is much MUCH worse than inflation, if for no other reason than the fact that inflation generally goes away after a while while fascism does not and even if it does, the damage it leaves behind is permanent because first and foremost, it leaves behind a generation or more of damaged people.

And once again... I haven't laughed anything off, I simply disagree. Some really bad s*** is going to happen to what remains of our democracy if Republicans take power again in their current fo Yes, you've predicted violence at the polls. Elections being turned over by state legislatures, laws being made against fair elections and a a plethora of other horrible things. You predict a fascist regime which will end voting as we know it and thus Democracy will end. I remain willing to bet cold hard American Dollars that none of that will occur.

You know the opening sequence in The Simpsons where Marge and Maggie are in the car? Do you want to have some input, and actually "steer the car" or do you want to be like Maggie Simpson? A "managed" democracy is where you get to go through the motions of voting but in the end, your vote gets overruled or thrown out by a "panel of experts" just like in a country like Iran. You don't think that's going to happen because, by your own admission, you don't really pay attention to current events. "What, ME worry?" Twenty bucks donated to RR....you're on.
